L'edifici de la Unió de Cooperadors és obra de l'arquitecte Josep Lluís Sert conjuntament amb Josep Torres i Clavé, construïda l'any 1936.
Inicialment era una cooperativa agrícola impulsada pels treballadors de Gavà que al llarg dels anys ha patit transformacions i canvis d’ús.
La rehabilitació ha tornat l’edifici a l’estat original, amb la recuperació i posada en valor dels principals elements estructurals i formals, com l’escala corbada i la façana, així com l’estructura metàl·lica i de volta de maó.
Per adaptar-se al nou ús d’edifici públic i a la normativa actual s’ha aprofitat l’enderroc d’afegits posteriors a l’original per crear un doble espai i una nova escala que relaciona fàcilment la totalitat de les plantes.
L'edifici es destinarà a usos polivalents vinculats a l'emprenedoria dels joves de Gavà.
The building of the Unió de Cooperadors is the work of the architect Josep Lluís Sert together with Josep Torres i Clavé, built in 1936.
Initially, it was an agricultural cooperative promoted by the workers of Gavà that over the years has undergone transformations and changes of use.
The refurbishment has restored the building to its original state, with the recovery and enhancement of the main structural and formal elements, such as the curved staircase and the façade, as well as the metal structure and brick vault.
To adapt to the new use of public buildings and current regulations, the demolition of additions after the original has been used to create a double space and a new staircase that easily connects all the floors.
The building will be used for multipurpose uses linked to the entrepreneurship of young people in Gavà.
